Dodane 10 maja 2023I cant imagine how all the staff keeps going without her presence. I have kept many of them as a reference as well as many of her Sewing With Nancy books. Im grateful that another book of her courage, faith and love has been written. I couldnt hardly wait for the new seasons to begin, but one thing in life we can count on is CHANGE. She was a special lady. I recently read Nancys autobiography, and had to go to great lengths to get her book. It is with great fondness that I appreciate her story. Reminded of Nancy every time I use her patterns, use her books and dvds . Nancy was truly a good example of a Christian woman, modest, humble, joyful and always serving others. I just want to send my condolences,, truly sorry. Yet she never let them stop her. I just adored Miss Nancy. Join Facebook to connect with Richard Zierman and others you may know. Nancy had a gift for explaining things at just the right speed and showing details up close so that you could feel like I can make that! I enjoyed her humble, sweet spirit. She was the kind of lady I would have loved to have as a neighbor! Nancy was an inspiration! I retired as a hospice nurse 3 1/2 years ago and yet was heartbroken to read of her death after her brave battle with cancer. So I purchased my machine at Sewing weekend. I recently read Nancys autobiography, Seams Unlikely . Her faithfulness in teaching Sunday School for decades and her faithfulness to the needs of her family are a catalyst to those seeking a fulfilling life. This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged. Nancys life was a testimony how Gods grace holds believers up in midst of trials and tribulations. This one is much lighter and easier for me when I take it with me for these sewing groups and it has just the basic stitches I need for sewing quilts, pillowcases, Cancer hats, and bags for beads for children undergoing chemo. When I I read Sewing with Nancy I was deeply moved by all the trials and tribulations that she went through as a young person and as a college student; then more and more health issues that followed. I have greatly missed her. (Just ordered her pattern adjustment book recently). I have enjoyed Nancys PBS programs since the 1980s. John and I spent 6 months in Florida and I never could find them while there. She always gave us ways to save time. Nancy was an encouraging person and truly lived the as you are going of scripture. I am so goad you contnue to show her programs. Many hide their pain while bringing learning and joy to others, would love to read Nancys story from her perspective, her husbands, her family and friends, all of us so blessed by her presence in our lives. I own nearly every tool from Nancy as well as many books. Nancy provided much inspiration to keep many sewers and and quilters on the right path to try something new. She took the time to speak to everyone and also took the time so you could take a picture with her. I would love to win this book. god gave us an angel. Though Ive been sewing for forty years, Im still learning from Nancy. I read Nancys first book Seams Unlikely and enjoyed it very muchI would enjoy reading the follow-up. I watched the show regularly. Born and raised in San Francisco, Andrew Zieman went back to his childhood alma mater - Sherman Elementary - to teach. You are missed. Nancy has taught me so much through the years. I would love to win a copy of her book. Learned many things from her and also found many quilt patterns to make from her show. Many of her books are in our library and I have many on my own shelf, I am grateful to have learned so much from her. I was able to my homesewn clothing look professional with the tips I learned from Nancy. I will be 72 this month and her books would make a wonderful Birthday gift for me to read and pass down to my daughter, who has been encourage by me that she can do anything she puts her mind to. Im so sorry I never was able to meet her in person. Her teaching style was so easy and a true inspiration not only to sew but to also confidently journey on. I am thankful that we can still enjoy spending time with her by watching shows again on our local PBS stations and via the website. She could make us laugh one minute and cry the next. She was a great sewist and her sewing skills which she left us in her books and DVDs and shows which we still can view will continue to inspire sewing enthusiasts for a very long time. Anne. I would love to read Richards book! This is the first Ive heard of it. In my early sewing days, I taped the videos and still have the collection (and a VCR which plays them). I miss those days of Sewing with Nancy. She was always so graceful and a wonderful host to guests. She was loved by so many. I loved her teaching style. I so miss her but we have all those wonderful shows to watch to help keep her with us! It was like losing a best friend. I met Nancy a little later in life but all those years that I did watch her program I did feel a personal connection with her. She made all of us feel so welcome. I was born into a family of women who sewed but I was never taught to sew. I would love to read her story. I loved watching Nancys programs from the beginning. Like many others, I have read her book Seams Unlikely. I cleaned house etc for this lovely lady for over 30 years. I cried when I read that she passed away. I recorded her quite a few of her shows and enjoy reviewing them. I met her once at Quilt Expo in Madison. Have also bought some of the tools she has mentioned. I saw Nancy a few times at Sew Expo in Puyallup, Washington, she was very gracious to everyone and when she had a book signing she didnt rush you thru the line. But Ive enjoyed the episodes Ive watched. I consider one of the highlights of my sewing life to have been an attendee at one of Nancys last Babylock retreats. I have watched Sewing with Nancy for years and learned so much from this wonderful lady. Nancy left us on November 14, 2017, and almost immediately people began requesting the story of the final years of her life. I was so fortunate to meet her at a BabyLock event a few years ago. I still have a lot to learn and go to my books that Nancy published to help me with projects I am working on. I lost the vision on the right side of both eyes due to surgery. I own her autobiography and plan to read this book as well. Her programs, with ideas and methods to make them, was a mecca for me during the busy days of raising 3 boistrous boys and a sweet little girl who followed in their tracks always. April 27, 2023. Recently, I purchased a Baby-lock sewing machine from her site, my husband said but you have several sewing machines already. Nancys shows were the best but it was her sweet nature that I loved. Zieman recorded 35 years of how-to educational programming and it's the longest running sewing show on TV. I caught my love of sewing from my mother and spent many happy summers sewing with her during my teenage years. i continue to watch her pbs series and still find a tidbit that improves my sewing experience. She was a very special lady and left a big Nancy was a great influence to the sewing/quilting world and I still enjoy watching her tutorials, etc. I began watching sewing with Nancy Saturday mornings with my children. Her bio was one I read within a week, i must have gone through 4 or more boxes of tissue. I greatly enjoyed Nancys biography and would love to read this also. Richard holds a degree in preternatural biology and is working on a master's degree part-time. Nancy is my sewing heroine! She was instrumental in helping me start my first quilt. I have been sewing since I was a small child which was a very long time ago, and have watched Nancys programs when they were available in my area. She gave me the courage to start sewing. I also truly enjoyed Nancys book, Seams Unlikely. When I got my embroidery machine, there was Nancy giving all kinds of info to follow. I wish I had been luck enough to meet her, but I still feel like she was my friend because I spent so much time with her programs! They have also lived in North Ridgeville, OH and Punta Gorda, FL. According to the bombshell documentary, Simmons has suffered from a painful congenital condition affecting his feet .
